About Pinot and Prose

Started in 2007, Pinot and Prose was a place for me to talk about my favorite things: children's books, food, and wine.  I was working as the Children's Materials Selector at Queens Library in NYC, reviewing for School Library Journal, and serving on ALA committees.  On the blog, I reviewed books and shared recipes; one of my regular features was "Foodie Books for Kids."

Fast forward to 2009 when I started culinary school at the Institute of Culinary Education, and I also left my job at Queens Library to work at HarperCollins Children's Books as the School/Library Marketing Manager.  Working for a publisher was an out-of-this-world experience, but it also meant that I couldn't talk about books the same way I had before.  At that point, I decided to make this blog food-and-wine-only, though I occasionally featured a "Foodie Book for Kids".

Fast forward to now and I've been a school librarian for five years, cooking, traveling, and reading in my free time. I spent that time away from the blog, mostly because of time restraints but also because I was trying to redefine and rediscover what it was I wanted to do here.

I'm all over the interwebs so we can continue our conversation anywhere!  Say hi on Twitter, Facebook, GoodReads, Pinterest, and Instagram!

Thanks for stopping by and stick around for food, wine, photos, family, laughter, fun, and love.
